Tenby Events/Noticeboards

Still no news from planning, the Chamber will be sent an invoice for £2000 from Tenby Events for its sponsorship of the noticeboard

Winter Carnival

Tenby Events have taken over the organisation of the carnival and have changed the format. A Festival Week of fun and activities will take place from the 8 – 15th December. The carnival is on the 8th December and a masked ball will finish the week’s activities on the 15th.

The remaining balance from last year’s carnival of £225.45 will be handed over to Tenby Events thereby closing the Chambers winter carnival account.

Town Developments

1) Royal Gatehouse Hotel – Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority have secured an

urgent repairs notice to make the building safe and watertight. If this is not carried out then

PCNPA have the authority to do the work and bill the owner and if necessary they will take

further measures.

2) Tudor Square – Pembrokeshire County Council will shortly be consulting the public on a

redesign of Tudor Square. It is understood that the redesign is for a narrowed carriageway

with parking for the disabled/unloading and the Dyster memorial is to be relocated within the

new pedestrian area.

3) Low water landing stage – consultants have been appointed to look into the feasibility of

having a landing stage on Castle beach and possible access to St Catherine’s.

4) Pedestrianisation – PCC will shortly confirm the scheme will occur next year as it was in 2006

and 2007.

5) Parking charges – PCC have appointed consultants to carry out a study on the Pembrokeshire

Economy and have decided not to increase charges until a review of the study has been

completed.

Correspondence

A letter had been received from Tenby Events asking for sponsorship towards the town crier competition planned for 11/12/13th April 2008. It was agreed to give £200.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 19th December

at 8.00 pm at The Fourcroft Hotel
